861 Worked on the construction of the Rideau Canal (after the 1828 eviction, in order to earn money for a new piece of land). Signed the McCabe list (1829 petition to the Crown, signed by almost 700 Irishmen in the Bytown area, asking for assistance to help bring impoverished relatives to Canada), where he said he was from "Tipperary, Lurrough, Kilnacross." He asked for assistance for his "Brother In Law, Daniel Lahy, having a family, resides at Kilnacross -- he is known to the Archdeacon of Killaloe." Lahey, John (I80)
